While the stars didn't align for me to join the posse at the plantation (yes, it was my birthday and I would have liked nothing better than to have been selected to get the bejeezus scared out of me along with Ms. Kendrick and her ghost hunting marauders), several lucky winners had the opportunity to venture to one of the most notoriously haunted houses in America. Ummmmm, I'm feeling goosebumpy...

Anyway, I think the show was broadcast live on Tuesday night (which naturally I missed because I was out painting the town, celebrating another glorious year), but the show should be rebroadcast this Saturday night. It's not live, but hey, it's Memorex.

The show is back on Saturdays nights now, thanks to a short-lived Friday night schedule change which prevented me from listening in very often, but you can bet I'll be listening to the show stream online this weekend.

Last Friday night (Sept. 15), the crew was in rare form...I haven't laughed so much listening to the radio in a really long time...I think I laughed their asses off.

I tuned in when guest Andrea Foster, who teaches manifestation, had the phones on fire as Laurie was inundated with calls from male listeners wanting to see if they were a possible love match for Laurie and her sidekick Martha. Laurie was cajoling potential beaus to join her for a first date in the studio and have a reading by Andrea to see if they were a fit...who knows she may get her a Mr. Kendrick, yet.

As for me, I'm waiting to enter for their next super scary field trip.

Pulling Psychics Out Your A**

Show #2 was another great three hours of organic psyhicness as Laurie Kendrick (photo left) and her radio crew literally pulled a psyhic out of their a** when the scheduled guest (a dream interpreter whose name I can't remember) couldn't be reached as the show went live. Obviously the dream interpreter must be an insomniac because surely it would have come to her in a dream that the show was starting without her. Anyway, in less than 10 minutes, Laurie was back with an Atlanta-based psychic Jill Marie Combine (www.jillmariecombine.com) on the phone. And before long, the phones were going crazy and the psychic interpretations were underway.

This show had a far different vibe than that of the premiere show. Jill Marie didn't quite connect with her callers the way the Reverend Carrie Carter (www.angelvision.com) did on the premiere show, but she did manage to keep the phones ringing and the questions coming for three solid hours. I don't know that she completely had me convinced she was psychic--she always asked for a name, and a little too much information about what people were trying to get answer for, versus the Rev. Carrie Carter who seemed to have an instant rapport her callers and provided them information without asking for many details.

Still reeling from the dead-on reading I received last week from the Reverend Carrie Carter, and, admittedly very sceptical about psychics in general until she knocked me off my seat with the 100% dead on reading she gave me. After about a week of mulling it over, I drank the Kool-aid and scheduled a phone reading with the Reverend. Listeners of the first show were able to get a 30 minute session for $85 (an pretty sweet deal given the fact that Rev. Carter only schedules one-hour sessions at $200 each).

Now Laurie has a website that has just premiered that is dedicated to all things supernatural, which anyone mystified by the otherworldy phenomena really should check out -- http://www.lauriekendrick.com/.

Next week, Laurie says she's got Jim Ovelhoser, an electrical engineer turned numerologist scheduled for the show. She also said that he recently did her numbers and that she was totally blown away. I'm sure I'll be sitting on hold for three solid hours trying to get though to this guy, but I'm definitely willing to give it a try.

so what do you think? Is this stuff real? Is it trickery? Or, maybe something in between?

I tell ya, you may begin listening to the show a sceptic and walk away a believer. Just listen in to the live streaming audio show at www.supertalk975.com from 7:00 to 10:00 each Saturday night. Use those free weekend minutes on your cell phone (like I did) and dial in.

You can also send an email to Laurie (Lkendrick@LaurieKendrick.com) to suggest guests and topics and keep the supernatural permeating the airwaves...

Saturday Night Will Never Be the Same

There's a new radio talk show in Houston that premiered Saturday night July 8, 2006 called Supernatural Saturday Night with Laurie Kendrick. From 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. CST each Saturday night, the show is broadcast in the Houston area and streams on the web (www.supertalk975.com) for all those who are lucky enough not to live in Houston. Fascinating, and just a tad bit eerie, the show tackles the subject of the supernatural--and the host Laurie Kendrick (Houston radio goddess), launched her new show with the psychic Reverend Carrie Carter (www.angelvision.com).

After dialing incessantly for more than an hour and finally breaking through the busy signal barrier to sit on hold for another hour, I was able get a quick reading from Rev. Carter. Being a bit sceptical of psychics, I wasn't prepared for what she was about to lay on me. There were two people in particular that I wanted to see if she was getting a reading from--my father and a friend of mine who died when we were teenagers. Without giving her any names--she asked me if my friend died in an accident. I said, "No, she was murdered." Then, out of the blue, she asked me "Who is Don?" I stammered a bit and said--it's my friend's father (who happens to be the only Don I know). I was practically speechless. Then Rev. Carter said that "your friend wants Don to know she's okay and to not feel guilty." And even though it has been more than 20 years since my friend passed, her father has carried guilt with him about her murder because he had hired her to do some work for him when she was abducted and killed. I recently located Don (her father) online and have been exchanging emails with him, and naturally, I sent him an email and shared the message.

Each week, the show will have different forms of supernatural specialists--from voodoo priestesses to people who claim to speak to God. With the growing curiosity of the supernatural--from ghost sitings to demonology--this show is positioned to open our minds to the possibilities, and quite possibly scare the beejeesus out of us in the process!

Check it out at www.supertalk975.com. Or if you have questions or suggestions for the show, send Laurie an email at Laurie.Kendrick@cumulus.com

I can't wait to see what she has in store for next week...
